Dhanush, Salim Kumar win Best actor National Award jointly

58th National Awards for 2010 is announced and Best actor award is shared between Malayalam actor Salim Kumar and Tamil actor Dhanush. Salim Kumar won the title for his performance in the movie Adaminte Makan Abu.

Dhanush won the best actor award for his performance in the movie Aadukalam. The director of this movie, Vetrimaran, won the title of the best director. Dabbang is selected as the best entertainer and Sabu Cyril is the best art director for the movie enthiran (Robot).

Dhanush movie scored many awards like the best movie, best camera man, best back ground music, etc. Salim Kumar handles normally comic roles but manages to some serious roles in between and won many awards like Kerala State Film Award, Sathyan Award, etc.

Mamata Banerjee,is the next CM of West Bengal

Mamata Banerjee stormed the Red bastion terminating the Left Front's 34-year stranglehold on West Benga.

Trinamool Congress has won 224 seats and was leading in 1 seat, while Congress bagged 42.
On the rival side, the CPI(M), which headed the Left Front, has won 63 seats.

Mamata Banerjee, the founder and chairperson of the party and is the current Railway Minister of the Republic of India born 5 January 1955).She is noted as a firebrand orator popularly known as "Didi" – the elder sister to all her followers in West Bengal. Her orator was all about connecting with ordinary people with ordinary dreams. She is noted for her opposition to Special Economic Zones and forceful land acquisition for industrialization in West Bengal at the cost of agriculturalists and farmers.

She graduated with an honours degree in history from the Jogamaya Devi College, an undergraduate women's college in southern Kolkata.[8][9] Later she earned a master's degree in Islamic History from the University of Calcutta. This was followed by a degree in education from the Shri Shikshayatan College. David Beckham Uninjured After Rear-Ender Car Crash

Soccer ace David Beckham escaped unhurt when his Cadillac SUV hit the rear of a stalled vehicle in California.

Soccer ace David Beckham was involved in a car accident while on his way to the LA Galaxy training centre on Friday, but he escaped unhurt when his Cadillac SUV hit the rear of a stalled vehicle in California.

The accident took place on the southbound 405 freeway. The 36-year-old star, who won the most recent of his 115 England caps in October 2009 against Belarus, reportedly hit the rear of another car that had broken down.

The driver of the other vehicle involved had a complaint of pain and was taken to hospital. David Beckham was not cited or arrested.

Former England captain Beckham's eldest son, Brooklyn, was with him at the time but didn't sustain any serious injuries either.

Arunachal Chief Minister's body found

Missing Arunachal Chief Minister Dorjee Khandu has been found dead; the site where his helicopter crashed has also been identified.

Sources involved in the massive search operation that has lasted five days say the wreckage of Mr Khandu's helicopter has been found in Lobthang.

The Pawan Hans AS350 B-3 helicopter carrying the chief minister and four others went missing after it took off from Tawang at 9.50 a.m. Saturday. The last radio contact with the ground was about 20 minutes after take off as it flew over the Sela Pass along the Chinese border perched at an altitude of 13,700 feet.

The bodies will now be airlifted.

Sourav Ganguly joins Pune Warriors

Sourav Ganguly,former India cricket captain on Tuesday made a dramatic return to the IPL 4 by signing up for struggling franchise Pune Warriors as replacement for injured pacer Ashish Nehra.

“We were waiting for Ashish Nehra’s fitness report. The report came yesterday and we finalised Ganguly last night,” Pune Warriors Team director Abhijit Sarkar said.

The Warriors have lost six matches on the trot after winning their first two games and now face a must-win situation in their remaining fixtures starting with the seemingly unstoppable Mumbai Indians, who had defeated them by seven wickets in a low-scoring game at the Wankhede Stadium on April 20.

Ganguly, who played for Kolkata Knight Riders for three IPL seasons captaining them in two editions, went unsold in the January players’ auction despite a rather modest base price of $400,000.

President Obama confirms death of Osama bin Laden

World's most wanted terrorist Osama bin Laden has been killed and his body recovered by American authorities in Pakistan. He was killed in an operation carried out by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in Pakistan, US President Barack Obama said on Sunday.

A small team of Americans carried out the attack and took custody of bin Laden's remains, the president said in a dramatic late-night statement at the White House.

The reported death of the Saudi-born extremist comes weeks ahead of the scheduled withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan in July.

Osama bin Laden, the glowering mastermind behind the September 11, 2001, terror attacks, 54, who created and funded the al Qaeda terror network. He was suspected of playing large roles in the 1998 bombings of two US Embassies in Africa and the attack on the USS Cole in the Yemeni port of Aden in October 2000.

The Saudi exile had been a on the run since the US-led invasion of Afghanistan overthrew the ruling Taliban regime, which harboured bin Laden.

Born in 1957, bin Laden was a son of Saudi Arabia's wealthiest construction magnate.

Priyanka Chopra turns up at Kolkata IPL match

On Saturday, Bollywood heartthrob Priyanka Chopra was seen at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata to watch the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) vs Kings XI Punjab IPL match and enjoying every moment of the action, sitting beside KKR co-owner and megastar Shah Rukh Khan.

She applauded every stroke but seen most happy when KKR got wickets.

An all-round effort helped Kolkata Knight Riders post an easy win over Kings XI Punjab at the Eden Gardens on Saturday night to go back on top of the points table in the fourth edition of the Indian Premier League.

Chasing a low score of 120, skipper Gautam Gambhir and Manoj Tiwary's unbroken 85-run partnership for the second wicket took KKR home with eight wickets and 16 balls to spare.
